Tony Robbins' Plan Revealed!
First I want to say that I really evolved as a Tony Robbins follower. First, after seeing the infomercials I was suspicious. After completing PP2 I believed Tony gave good information and was getting rich doing it (nothing wrong with that). Then during Get the Edge I realized what he really is: A Con.
Here is Tony's plan for you:
Buy a CD set -> attend a seminar -> buy products and invest in his schemes -> attend a seminar
This cycle repeats until you're broke. Tony is a con man, getting rich with his scheme. You see, if everything Tony said was false, he'd be easily exposed and discredited and out of business. So Tony has to give good and useful information to get people into his cycle. This is why I did enjoy PP2 and was curious enough to try another CD program. But he said some things in Get The Edge which were totally false, and that's when I started doing more research on the Internet. I found a few interesting stories about his seminars. Basically the seminars have useful information as well, and it's very entertaining. But during the seminars he promotes and sells products that do not work. An example the QLink, a pendant you wear to protect you from harmful waves like those from a cell phone. Yes he actually devoted time from one of his $1,000 seminars to promote this! He tries to sell investment opportunities such as his DreamLife.com (which is now bankrupt and out of business). And he tries to sell more seminars, with extremely high pressure and false 72 hours cancelation policies. Sometimes he says he doesn't have time to finish the material and that the attendees must come to the next seminar for the rest. Sometimes he puts a lot of high pressure on the attendees to pay for the next seminar at a special discount ($10,000 after the discount!). He says they have several days to cancel but the fine print says they can't cancel. He says they have a money back guarantee but getting them to refund the money is nearly impossible. He says he'll be at the seminars but often they're taught by his instructors and he's only there on video. The list goes on and on. Here are a few links with some interesting stories from people who've listened to his programs and/orattended his seminars:
- Part 1 of a story posted by a guy who attended his Unleash the Power Within seminar.
- Part 2 of the story (scroll down)
- Misc feedback I've received
My advice: There are only two Tony CDs I can recommend: Personal Power 2 and Time of Your Life. These contain good information. I'll let you be the judge of whether they're worth the $200+ price tag. Try to find them at the library, borrow them from a friend, or split the cost with a few friends, etc. I haven't personally been to any of his seminars, but from the feedback I've received, Unleash the Power Within (UPW) seems to be a good seminar (it's his "introductory" seminar) if you can overlook the few scams such as the QLink Pendant mentioned above. The rest of the seminars, including the Mastery series ($10k each) are not worth it. Be careful, because at the UPW seminar he'll put the extremely hard sell on you to attend a Mastery seminar. Resist! After the two CD programs and UPW you'll have received the maximum from Tony at the lowest cost.
